The Art of Classical Equitation with the Science of Modern Physiology.

Gin specializes in Classical Equitation and Neuromuscular Therapy. She is a life-long student of the horse, devoted to well-being. Her work fosters BALANCE in both horse and rider, based on the Mind-Body connection.
Her philosophy is deeply rooted in the virtues of “L’equitation de Legerete" (Riding in Lightness), focused on biomechanics of the horse’s movement and the rider’s seat.
Decades of experience as trainer is an important factor in her skill level, combined with 10+ years study of anatomy, physiology, and nutrition. This gives her a unique insight for Training, Teaching and Integrated Therapy.
Bridging the gap between modern science and equestrian art is her focus. Helping riders and horses restore balance in athletic development is her passion.
The work comes from an underlying respect and affinity for history of the Equestrian Arts and the old masters who formed it. This evolved into years of devoted, careful study in writings and training a wide variety of horses.
Her journey began with starting colts, competition awards, and fixing unsound horses — ultimately choosing a path of becoming a certified equine bodyworker to combine benefits with training. She offers Equine Hanna Somatics® and Myofascial physiotherapy, helping horses who plateau in gymnastic development, release chronic tension and muscle imbalances, restore straightness and emotional regulation.
In a discipline often criticized for tension and rigidity, Gin embodies a kinder, heart-centered view of dressage—one that honors the horse with dignity. Her training is based on the relational values of lightness and empathy while aiming for the power and precision of modern sport.
Gin adheres to classical principles of ethics that create balance, harmony, and long-term soundness. She offers: “An ability to bring out expression without tension.”
Riding trips to Portugal and Spain give her a deeper feeling of harmony possible in the “P’s: Piaffe, Passage, Pirouettes and tempi changes. She credits these schoolmasters for teaching her the beauty of “feeling the space between the footfalls” and giving her the ability to share the joy of riding.
Gin is a classical rider with decades of horse experience, winning her first championship at age 12. Gin studies with Pippa Callanan, French classical equitation of Ecole de Légèreté. Gin’s background includes professional programs at Valença Academy in Portugal, the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Spain, Scholar Straightness Training Academy, and education with Karl Mikolka, Charles de Kunffy, Thomas Ritter, Jillian Kreinbring, Grand Prix rider/judge Alexis Martin-Vegue, and others. Her journey is rooted in continued professional education with her teachers and courses, believing Accountability is vital in learning and life.
Gin owns Hilltop Farm of Oregon, a private horse facility in scenic southern Oregon, where she trains, teaches and offers Integrated Therapy.
